Our theme this month is: NO FOWL PLAY, JUST GOOD DEEDS. Let’s be honest: Thanksgiving is the Super Bowl of eating, and I plan to train accordingly. I’ll be loosening my belt, lowering my standards for how many rolls count as “one serving,” and entering a committed relationship with mashed potatoes. But between the turkey-induced comas and the nationwide debate over whether cranberry sauce should come from a can (do cranberries even exist outside of can form?), let’s not forget what Thanksgiving is actually about. Gratitude. Giving back. Remembering that not everyone has a table overflowing with food or a family overflowing with love. So before we launch ourselves cannonball style face-first into the pie, come spend an hour with Kids for Kindness spreading some thankfulness and holiday cheer.
After learning a bit about our this month’s theme, we will spend the remainder of our time working on our three kindness projects. They’re gonna be turk-tacular because you know I’m stuff-sessed with Thanksgiving.
Our events are geared to kids of all ages, and we have had kids ranging in age from 1 to 18 at our events. So all are welcome! Parents or guardians are asked to stay with their children through the length of the program to assist the children in completing the projects.
We charge a nominal materials fee per child. Thus, the supplies for each of these activities will be provided as part of the cost of participation. Detailed instructions for each project will be provided as well. The fee will secure your spot in our program. If, for any reason, you must cancel your registration, please do so at least 10 days before the event in order to secure a full refund. Otherwise, your materials fee will be forfeited.
