Our theme this month is: Our theme this month is: CREEPIN’ IT KIND! Ah, Halloween—that magical night when children dress up as everything from princesses to serial killers, carousing around neighborhoods after dark, and earnestly demand candy from total strangers while their parents stand nearby pretending we’re not just wandering the hood begging for free stuff. And let’s be honest: by 7:30 p.m., most kids have developed the strategic thinking skills of a Fortune 500 CEO as they calculate which houses give out full-size candy bars and which ones are clearly just trying to get rid of their leftover raisins. But this year at Kids for Kindness, we’re asking our little goblins to put down the candy bucket for a minute and use all that sugar-fueled energy for something even more powerful: SERVICE! Because the best kind of Halloween magic isn’t making your brother believe he should give you all his Twix in exchange for your Tootsie Rolls — it’s making someone else feel seen, loved, and cared for. So grab your capes, sharpen your broomsticks, unleash your inner monster, and let’s go out and prove that kindness is saweeeeeet.
After learning a bit about our this month’s theme, we will spend the remainder of our time working on our three kindness projects. For our first project, we will make some super spooky Halloween lollipop bouquets. At station two, we will make some DIY monster kits to donate to deserving kiddos. And last, we will make some very sweet Halloween wreaths to cheer some residents of an assisted living facility.
Our events are geared to kids of all ages, and we have had kids ranging in age from 1 to 18 at our events. So all are welcome! Parents or guardians are asked to stay with their children through the length of the program to assist the children in completing the projects.
We charge a nominal materials fee per child. Thus, the supplies for each of these activities will be provided as part of the cost of participation. Detailed instructions for each project will be provided as well. The fee will secure your spot in our program. If, for any reason, you must cancel your registration, please do so at least 10 days before the event in order to secure a full refund. Otherwise, your materials fee will be forfeited.
