DECEMBER 2025: KINDNESS IS MISTLETOE-TALLY RAD
This event is full and registration is now closed. Please join us next year for more fun!!
Our theme this month is: KINDNESS IS MISTLETOE-TALLY RAD. There are some holiday traditions that make less sense than others. Meeting your sweetie under a parasitic plant that we willingly bring into our homes, just praying none of it drops on you while you share a smooch? Joining in on a cute little Christmas carol where we start with some well wishes but end with a whole verse demanding our hosts bring us a mystery dish no one in America has ever even heard of? But we all know there’s one holiday tradition that will stand the test of time, always and forever and waaaaay longer than Labubus. Kindness. Generosity. Giving. Love. And this month, we’re going to do a whole bunch of all that stuff.
After learning a bit about our this month’s theme, we will spend the remainder of our time working on our three kindness projects. For our first project, we will stuff stockings full of toys and games for kiddos who have recently arrived in our country as refugees. Next, we will made some cutie cute reindeer treats for kiddos in Phoenix who could use a little extra love. And last, we will be making Christmas ornaments for local folks who need some holiday cheer.
**** THE CAROLING SLOTS HAVE BEEN FILLED! THANK YOU!! ****We have an opportunity to take our first ever Kids for Kindness field trip, where we will meet at Sunrise Senior Center, a local assisted living facility, to deliver some holiday cheer and do a little caroling for the residents. Kids of all ages are welcome to join, but you certainly don’t have to if it’s not your scene. We will meet there at 3:15, spend 30 minutes there, then return to Midwest Food Bank for our service event. The senior center have asked we only bring 20 children, so reserve your spot now at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0E4AADA92AABF94-60678012-kids****
Our events are geared to kids of all ages, and we have had kids ranging in age from 1 to 18 at our events. So all are welcome! Parents or guardians are asked to stay with their children through the length of the program to assist the children in completing the projects.
We charge a nominal materials fee per child. Thus, the supplies for each of these activities will be provided as part of the cost of participation. Detailed instructions for each project will be provided as well. The fee will secure your spot in our program. If, for any reason, you must cancel your registration, please do so at least 10 days before the event in order to secure a full refund. Otherwise, your materials fee will be forfeited.
